Several Affected as Rough Air Strikes A Delta Airlines Aircraft Arriving in Sydney

A number of individuals were hurt following a Delta Airlines jet originating in Los Angeles to Sydney experienced rough air on Friday morning.

Flight DL41 "went through a short bout of rough air" as it made its approach and landed at the Sydney airport, an airline spokesperson stated. Four flight attendants sustained injuries.

The New South Wales Ambulance Service reported they assessed a total of five people, and transported three to hospital with relatively minor issues that included spinal discomfort and migraines. The patients' ages ranged from their 30s to 70s.

This marks the most recent case of planes encountering atmospheric disturbance, with aviation specialists saying that climate change is a significant contributor.

On board were 245 people and fifteen staff members on the Airbus A350, the Delta spokesperson added, clarifying that the plane landed "safely and normally" at the airport at shortly before 7 a.m. on Friday.

Emergency responders reported they received a call just only 180 seconds before the plane touched down, and response teams were waiting on the tarmac.
