Renowned Actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.

US entertainer Finn, who featured in popular TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, according to reports.

"He saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a statement.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

An Extensive Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, including:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted on social media.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
